Description
Raffia, also known as bast, is a waterproof fiber in the form of a paper ribbon. It has no joints or protruding threads, is even throughout its entire length, and is biodegradable. A major advantage of raffia is its lightness and breathability. It’s perfect for crocheting summer hats, beach bags, placemats and various decorations, as well as for arranging or tying floral compositions. The fibers come from palms of the Raphia genus. This raffia is partially metallic, giving finished products a glamorous effect.
